Terms and Conditions

We want you to have a great time staying with us, and part of a happy time is no misunderstandings! None of us like reading the small print, but to make sure we are all in agreement before booking, please read the following.

Any reference to either ‘us’ or ‘we’ in these Booking Conditions refers to the owners of Mansion Cottage. ‘You’ or ‘your’ are references to the person making the booking and all members of the holiday party. So that you understand the basis of the contract between you and us when you book your accommodation, we have laid out as clearly as possible, the conditions on which your booking is made. Nothing in these conditions affects your normal statutory rights.

1. Your booking
You must be at least 18 years old when you book your accommodation. It is a condition of your booking that the total number in your party shall not exceed the capacity of the property. Your booking is made as a consumer and you acknowledge that no liability can be accepted for any personal/business losses howsoever suffered or incurred by you. A binding contract comes into existence once we have received your deposit and we have issued our written confirmation. Any disputes or queries will be between the party leader and the owner. The party leader will assume responsibility for the whole party and the compliance with these rules of all party members. We reserve the right to refuse any booking prior to the issue of our written confirmation, and if we do this we will tell you in writing and promptly refund any money you have paid us. When your confirmation is received, the details must be checked carefully. If anything is not correct you should tell us immediately.

2. Paying for your accommodation
A non-refundable booking deposit of 25% is payable when submitting your booking form. The booking form and these Terms and Conditions will collectively be our contract. Your booking will only be accepted on receipt of both the signed form and the required payment. Upon receipt of these we will send your written confirmation. We must receive the final balance of the booking cost no later than 8 weeks before your arrival date. However, if you book less than 8 weeks before the arrival date, payment of the total cost is due straightaway. If you fail to pay the final balance within the 8 weeks required, we will take this as a cancellation on your behalf and you will forfeit your 25% deposit. If your bank returns your payment to us unpaid, we reserve the right to cancel the holiday booking. Exceptions are described in the two Cancellation clauses.
3. Damage to property
You are responsible to the Owners for the actual costs of any breakage or damage in or to the accommodation which are caused by you or your party, along with any additional costs that may result. Should there be any breakages or damage to the property you will be charged for the cost of the repairs or the cost for replacements.

4. Cancellation of booking by you
If for any reason you have to cancel your booking you must contact the Owners as soon as possible. The first 25% booking deposit is nonrefundable under any circumstances. If your cancellation falls within 8 weeks of your arrival date the full amount of the balance is forfeited, unless another customer makes full payment for the same holiday dates.

5. Cancellation of booking by us
If we have to cancel your booking in advance due to circumstances beyond our control, you will be refunded the amount of the fees paid in a full and a final settlement. If we have to terminate your holiday early you will be refunded the part of the booking you have paid. No compensation, expenses, costs or other sums of any description (including without limitation the cost of securing an alternative property) will be payable in this event.

6. Limit of liability
You accept that the Owners shall have no liability to you for your personal property or the death or personal injury to you or any member of your party. Our liability is limited to the cost of your holiday under any circumstances and we are not responsible for any consequential loss and/or expense/damages whatsoever.

7. Website and advertisements
The Owners aim to ensure that the information and descriptions provided are accurately conveyed on the official website (www.mansioncottage.co.uk) and any authorised third-party websites or advertisements. There may be small differences between the actual accommodation and its description as we are always seeking to improve services and facilities. There are many unauthorised websites listing holiday cottages, we cannot accept responsibility for any misrepresentation by these sites. We cannot accept responsibility for any changes or closures to local area amenities or attractions mentioned on the website.

8. During your stay
You can arrive at your accommodation after 3.30 pm on the start date of your holiday and you must vacate the accommodation by 10 am on the last day. We have the right to refuse to hand over accommodation to any person(s) who, in our reasonable opinion, is not suitable to take charge of it. If we reasonably believe any person(s) is not suitable to continue the holiday because of unreasonable behavior, damage to the property or danger of significant annoyance to others, the contract may be terminated and the accommodation repossessed, in which case we have no further liability.

You may not carry out any form of trade or business from the property, nor may you sub-let any part of the property. The inside of the cottage is strictly non-smoking and you agree not to smoke in any part of the inside of the accommodation. Ashtrays are provided for use outside in the garden. The cottage is in a quiet rural village, you must pay due consideration to the neighbours and avoid late-night noise, particularly outside. We will treat contravention of any of these rules as a cancellation by you and Section 4 will apply. You must allow the Owners or any representative of the Owners access at any reasonable time during your stay.

9. Pets
Pets are not allowed.

10. Cleaning on departure
You agree to keep the accommodation clean and tidy and leave it in a similar condition to that which you found it in. The following basic level of cleanliness is required on departure; Cookers and ovens clean and fat-free. Kitchen, lounge and dining room floors swept. Crockery and cutlery washed, dried and put away. Toilets cleaned. Carpets vacuumed. Beds stripped (not mattress protectors). Obvious spills and stains removed. Any furniture moved restored to original position. Barbeque clean and fat-free. Bins emptied into outside dustbin. Failure to meet this standard will result in a charge.

We operate our household to be as environmentally friendly as possible and re-cycle as much as possible. Bottles, cans, paper and cardboard can be left by the bin in the boxes provided and these will be collected once every two weeks.

11. Problems & Complaints
Every effort has been made to ensure that you have an enjoyable and memorable holiday. If however, you have any problem or cause for complaint, it is essential that you contact us immediately to give us the chance to resolve it. We value your custom and want you to return!

These terms and conditions are subject to the Laws of England and Wales. Payment of your deposit confirms acceptance of all these terms and conditions.

A bit about Crich

Crich

Crich is a popular destination, situated above the Derwent Valley, bordering the Peak District National Park. It is famous for the award winning Tramway Village and for being in the heart of “Peak Practice” country (the property being only 100 metres from the set). The war memorial, Crich Stand, overlooks the National Tramway Museum and on a clear day you can see up to 8 different counties.
